Liliana M. Calle, MS, CASAC, is a Clinical Evaluator/Substance Abuse Specialist at Montefiore Medical Center, in the Psychiatry Department/ University Behavioral Associates.
She is a student in our partner program: Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling with Alfred University. She was recently selected to be part of a group of 18 leaders in the United States, in the SAMSHA WASLI leadership program. Congratulations to Liliana on this success!

“I am very excited to be part of a group of future leaders in the field of mental health and co-ocurring disorders. It has been very challenging for me, combining my work responsibilities and school work. However, I am very optimistic about my ability to keep things done.
I am very excited about the WASLI program, I am officially part of a network of prepared and passionate leaders across the United States that are committed to establishing quality women’s treatment and recovery services along with advocating for policies that support women’s recovery and trauma-informed, woman responsive behavioral health. I look forward to continue working at my best capacity!”
Liliana M. Calle has been working in the field of addictions since 2006. Her experience includes providing direct client services as well as delivering trainings in Ethics and Clinical strategies for credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor (CASAC) certification. She is a Clinical Supervision Foundations trainer certified by The Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) in the State of New York. She received a degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Antioquia in Colombia, South America and obtained her Master of Science Degree from the School of Health Professions at Long Island University. She is currently enrolled at Alfred University (1199SEIU program) for a Master of Science degree in Education with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling (M.S.Ed./C.A.S). Expected graduation is August 2019.
Liliana began her career as a senior counselor at a community-based organization (adult offenders) and became a Clinical Supervisor at a Methadone Maintenance Clinic in the South Bronx providing services to the most vulnerable populations, especially women with co-occurring disorders. She has successfully provided clinical training using a standardized curriculum in a New York State certified school. Her interests are prevention of substance use disorders; evidence based interventions, and treating patients with co-occurring disorders. She has advocated for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), overdose prevention, harm reduction and referral services for individuals charged with impaired driving. Liliana is deeply committed to provide culturally-sensitive quality services and maintaining high ethical standards.
