SPECIAL EDUCATOR: EARLY INTERVENTION

We are seeking a Certified Special Educator (Birth to 2nd Grade or equivalent) to work as an Early Intervention group special instruction provider.

This is a 10-month (academic) position, with option for summer. Children are enrolled via the Department of Health/Early Intervention program. The program enrolls children with a variety of disabilities, and uses a developmental curriculum.

Responsibilities include provision of mandated group instruction, related paperwork/reporting, supervision of paraprofessional staff, parent interaction, and participation in the school community.

Applicants must have a NY State teaching certification, and eligibility to work with two- to three-year-old children. Although not essential, speakers of Arabic, Spanish, Russian, or Chinese are encouraged to apply. Please be prepared to provide three letters of recommendation and to provide required medical, clearance, and educational documentation.

SpEd Certified teachers willing to teach Science or Math ICT at a very nice, stand alone public charter school, Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School.

We are a small, progressive school located in Park Slope, serving a truly diverse population through a full inclusion model. We focus on the whole child and are themed around sustainability and give all students experience in gardening and environmental action. We also partner with the David Lynch Foundation to run a twice daily “Quiet Time” meditation program.

We need to hire special education teachers to co-teach math and science as soon as possible.
