Dr. Tangorra is himself a graduate of the Albany Sage doctoral program, so he represents a great model of a successful doctorate graduate. He expressed his appreciation to the program, saying that it completely changed how he approached his job as a superintendent of schools—and the change was noticed by his staff and faculty.
The talk and the lively question and answer session centered on the opt out movement, school, teacher and principal evaluation systems that State Ed is, by law, responsible for developing by June 30th, 2015.
Multiple pathways to high school diplomas were also discussed As well as the need for more robust career education. The conversation was animated and civil, always a good thing to see.
