Parent Workshop: Busting Bullying / Preveniendo La Intimidacion
Below is an update from one of the many CITE Professional Development and Parenting Workshops taking place in a school near you!
On November 27th, 2018, we had a helpful event on how best to handle bullying, at PS 47X – The John Randolph School, in The Bronx. This parent workshop was aimed at better understanding the struggles children face today, both online and offline, when it comes to bullying. Irma Rios Garceau, a CITE Education Consultant with over 27 years of experience, lead the presentation and the discussion that followed.
Some of the topics covered were:
- understanding bullying and its forms
- teaching children effective strategies for overcoming bullying
- how best to approach a teacher or parents when bullying is present
- what are the warning signs that your child is being bullied
Feedback:
“The information was good because it helps us to be more attentive with our children.”
“This parent workshop helped me understand if my child is being bullied and also to speak to him so he does not bully others.”
