Position: The Interventionist will manage grade-level and school-wide systems for identifying students in need of extra support, developing and implementing reading and math intervention curriculum and strategies, and adapting the curriculum/strategy as needed.
Responsibilities:
Teach targeted literacy interventions to individual students and small groups of students
Work with teachers and leaders to Implement and manage school-wide academic intervention systems and curriculum
Implement the CACPCS data management system that tracks students receiving extra support and the success of different interventions applied
Identify students in need of reading intervention and collaborate with teachers to create individual academic plans
Identify a set of universal academic interventions, and collaborate with the school leadership team to integrate them into the school’s overall plan and instructional approach
Regularly report on the effectiveness of intervention systems and strategies to leaders
Support with afterschool and summer intervention programs
Collaborate with Principal, Academic Deans, ESL Specialists, and Director of Special Education and Interventionist to ensure students are receiving the needed interventions, strategies, and services needed to be successful
Oversee/manage a caseload of special education students and the implementation of their IEP/504 plans
Facilitate IEP Meetings
Qualifications:
Be an exemplar teacher who consistently models the Children’s Aid College Prep’s mission, core values and approach
Outstanding performance as per the Thoughtful Classroom’s Teacher Effectiveness Framework and student performance data
Demonstrated commitment to the continuous assessment of students’ academic, social and behavioral progress in order to effectively plan and tailor instruction, enrichments and interventions
Some experience using intervention systems and curriculum (i.e., Wilson Reading Fundations, Just Words, Leveled Literacy Intervention)
Extensive knowledge in literacy development and interventions
Master’s degree and certification in special education is required
Must be FULLY VACCINATED

Collaborative Professional Development (Quarterly for Teachers and Families)
Co Lead PLC Meetings: Special Education Supports (Monthly for Sped Teachers)
Attend and co-facilitate monthly data meetings focusing on 5-8 interventions (WRS and Just Words)
Support with Identifying and implementing progress monitoring tools and trackers
In person/recording of co-observation of Intervention 1x per month with Director of Special Education to discuss trends
Qualifications:
