Nominate a School Leader as a Hometown Hero
CSA, The Daily News and the UFT have partnered once again for the Second Annual Hometown Heroes in Education awards. The program recognizes exceptional educators and honors them for their extraordinary recent achievements in schools.
Recommend a Principal, Assistant Principal or Supervisor as a Hometown Hero in Education
“Together with the Department of Education, the United Federation of Teachers and the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators, The News will recognize school workers who display generosity, compassion, dedication, selflessness and ingenuity.
Their achievements could include helping students who face extreme difficulties, creating innovative programs, making outstanding contributions to the community, or some other extraordinary act.” (Read more)
Send an email, letter or fax to the Daily News with a brief description as to why the school leader deserves the award along with relevant information including names, dates and locations. Contact information for the sender is also required.
Nominations are due by July 25.

“I hope all our students and families will nominate the teachers and administrators that have had an impact on them and that make New York City schools great,” Chancellor Carmen Fariña said.
